A recent torrential rainstorm dumped over 3″ of rain in Emerson in one hour. Major intersections were flooded and several cars needed to be towed to safety. The fact that this storm happened during school pick-up made it especially challenging! Jose knows first hand what it’s liked to live in one of our flood prone areas. He was out there, clearing drains and trying to get drivers to avoid the pond in the street. Half a decade ago, a major infrastructure project alleviated some of the issue on his block. Both Jose and Julia believe that if we can help one area of town, we can help others. Let’s invest your money better through smart infrastructure projects making your neighborhood even better.
